Following Hurricane Nicole making landfall in Florida earlier this week, NASA will host a media teleconference at 3 p.m. EST today, Friday, Nov. 11, on the status of its Artemis I mega Moon rocket and spacecraft on the launch pad at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Jim Free, associate administrator for Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington, will lead the discussion.
Artemis I is the first integrated flight test of NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, an uncrewed Orion spacecraft, and the ground systems at Kennedy that will pave the way for a crewed test flight and future human lunar exploration as part of Artemis.

As NASA returns humans to the lunar surface and establishes a long-term presence on our closest celestial neighbor, the agency and commercial human landing system providers Blue Origin and SpaceX have streamlined the designs and changed both concepts of operations for its future crewed landers. Since NASA established initial contracts with Blue Origin and SpaceX …
